STEEPLE LANGFORD WARMINSTER ROAD SU 03 NW (north side) 2/97 Boundary post about 400m east of drive to Ballington Manor GV II Boundary post. Circa 1840. Cast-iron T-shaped post with low pedimented top to arms, raised lettering: STEEPLE LANGFORD across the top and LITTLE BATHAMPTON to left arm, STEEPLE LANGFORD to right arm. One of a series of cast-iron mileposts and boundary posts on turnpikes radiating from Warminster, manufactured by Carson and Miller, a firm of Warminster ironfounders. This boundary post located at a point where a milepost is marked on OS map; which could not be found. (R. Haynes, Wiltshire Milestones, Leisure in Wiltshire, 1968)
