SK 17 SE PARISH OF LITTON CRESSBROOK LOWER LANE 3/42 (South Side) Lower Lodge, gates and garden wall II

Lodge to Cressbrook Hall. Probably 1843 by Weightman & Hadfield. Coursed squared limestone with gritstone dressings and vermiculated quoins. Chamfered fishscale Welsh slate roof. Stone coped gables with moulded kneelers and finials. Stone eaves stack and gable end stack. Tudor style. Single storey plus attic. North- west elevation with projecting gabled bay with a tripartite mullion window, the central light taller and with a transom. Stepped dripmould. Breather opening above. Gabled wooden porch set back to left and a gabled dormer above. Large C20 addition to south west not of special interest. Low garden wall with chamfered copings and octagonal piers, surmounted by a rustic wooden fence. Similar gates to match.
