Large house, circa 1820, coloured brick in Flemish bond with stone dressing and slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays, double depth plan. Projecting stone plinth. 6-panel door in heavy face-carved frame flanked by narrow wing-lights with glazing bars. The opening is framed by plain engaged columns with simple carved caps, and dosserets which flank an eliptical radial bar fanlight; this is surmounted by an open pediment. The outer bays are two storey brick bows each with three sashes, which have glazing bars. The sashes sit on stone sill bands, are flanked by plain pilasters and separated by simple Doric-style columns. There are moulded stone corbels supporting the sill band below all pilasters and columns. The windows are surmounted by plain friezes and lead covered moulded cornices. There is a single recessed sash, at first floor level, over the front entrance. There are 3-light flush casements in the LH (east) side wall and recessed sashes, with glazing bars, in the west wall. A lead covered blocking course surmounts the first floor window (eaves) cornice. The front roof has lead covered hips and the twin gables to the rear have barge boards. Timber gutters and plain stacks to the side walls. A full width single storey addition at the rear is of no special interest. Internally: The Entrance Hall has a full width screen with panelled wings and pilasters, surmounted by a radial bar fanlight, but the double doors are missing. The windows of the north-east room have panelled shutters and are flanked by reeded pilasters. The marble mantel has a cornice and a chimney-piece consisting of a mirror supported by Greek Ionic columns. The north-west room has a Georgian wooden mantel with chimney-piece supported on six balusters; this has four small niches and a deep cornice. Moulded ceiling cornice. A geometrical staircase with curtail step, oak treads, cut and bracketed string, square balusters and rosewood wreathed handrail. The north-east and north-west rooms at first floor level have Georgian mantels and moulded ceiling cornices. There are a number of six-panel doors at ground and first floor level.
