NEWBOLD ASTBURY C.P. MACCLESFIELD CANAL SJ 85 NE 8508 5987 8/62 Bridge No. 81 - GV II

Road bridge over the Macclesfield Canal. c. 1827. By William Crosley. Yellow sandstone coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. Single span bridge with horseshoe arch with voussoirs and a projecting keystone which rises to connect with the band below the parapet. Battered walling to either side and slightly curved retaining walls which terminate in square piers. Chamfered coping to top of the parapet.
