Details
BODDINGTON OLD GLOUCESTER ROAD, Hayden SO 92 SW 7/11 The Old Forge II House. Probably C16, altered and extended C19, mid-late C20. Timber framed walls, brick nogged or rendered panels, painted brickwork, thatched roof, tiled lean-to and rear wing. 'L' plan, main front about 4 bays, one room deep, 1½ storeys: single-bay, 2- storey rear wing. To road: brick section on right, timber post, 2 small windows in brick section, boarded door with rectangular light over: 2-panel high framing to left, 6-pane window with hook hinges for shutters, two 2-light windows, first replacing door; brick section with 2-light casement with cambered brick arched and panelled shutters. Brick lean-to on left, covering timber framing: boarded door on right return. Above 2 swept dormers, one with 2- light casement, one paired 2-light casements. Roof half-hipped, chimney on ridge behind blocked door. Left return: fully-glazed French door, 2-light casement each side. Above gable truss for half-hip, 2-light casement, gable raised each side. Slightly- projecting brick on left, for rear wing; brickwork painted, dentil eaves, chimney from eaves, left corner, oversailing cap. Interior not inspected.
