Fire and Ambulance Station) GV II Offices of community centre. Mid/late C19, long single
storeyed rear C20 addition. Grey gault and red brick,
composition dressings, slate roof. Rectangular plan. 2 storeys
and attics and cellars. Front N elevation in classical style,
gault brick, 3 bays, central facade gable, deep modillioned
eaves. Ridge stacks at E and W ends with diagonally set
shafts. Central doorway with panelled doorcase, overlight with
fretted glazing bars, C19 5 panel door, upper panels glazed.
Windows sashes, 3x4 panes, one in gable 3x3 panes. W end
elevation similar to front, single sash window on first floor
3x4 panes, single attic casement window 2x2 panes, plain C20
ground floor casement windows. Large rectangular area of red
brick on ground floor. Rear, S elevation in Gothic style.
Ground floor replaced by C20 work. First floor, red brick, 3
bays and facade gable. Windows have chamfered brickwork
surrounds and labels, transoms and mullions, two 3-light, one
2-light casements with glazing bars, 6x5 panes and 4x5 panes.
Attic window in gable similar, 2-light 4x4 panes, stone bust
on corbel above, eaves and barge-boards have cusped shaping
and end pendants. E end elevation: similar to S, single window
on ground and first floors, both 3-light casements, 6x4 panes,
shaped barge-boards have apex bracket on carved corbel.
INTERIOR rebuilt in C20, plain.
