Detached house. C16 with later front. Ham stone rubble, but with colourwashed brick facade, Flemish bond, with ashlar dressings; Welsh slate roof over stone slate base courses between stepped coped gables; brick chimney stacks. 'L'-plan; 2 storeys, 5 bays, of which bay 5 is a one-bay gabled projection. Above, horizontal bar casements, 3-light except upper bay 3 which is 4-light; below a C20 4-light window bay 1 in reconstructed stone surrounds; plain mullioned windows of 4 lights lower bay 3 and 3 lights lower bay 4, without labels; to lower bay 2, a C20 door set in deep recess with plain beaded surround: in north return bay 5 are C20 casements, the lower in part-blocked former shop window, with blocked doorway to left. North gable shows earlier lower roof line. Inside, the centre room has a 9-bay deep moulded beam panelled ceiling, and in the north wall a wide fireplace with chamfered beam, a gable entry and a winding stone stair with oval light; other C18 features in wings to either side; centre portion has one visible raised cruck, with indications that others survive. About 3m west of the house, mostly set on low stone walling, are wrot iron railings, with arrow head tops and cast urn finials to arch-braced standards, and gate to match opposite door (north section newly installed, to match, June l985).
