Rectory. 1830s front addition with part of earlier build incorporated at rear and right. Stone rubble with brick dressings, double span hipped slate roof, brick chimneys, rear stone projecting stack with brick shaft. Asymmetrical front. Double depth plan with right front entrance into open stair hall with open well stair. The present plan may be a partial execution of an intended larger house. At the right and rear the accommodation extends into part of the C17 rectory building. 2 storeys. 2 bay front with right front entrance through 6 panel door with pilasters and entablature. Ground floor window to left of door timber sash, 8 panes each sash under flat brick arch, brick jambs and slate sill. First floor windows left and right similar, inserted small C20 window between the first floor sashes. Adjoining the right of the 1830s build and set back is a 2 storey projection under a lean-to roof with first floor blocked round headed window. The earlier rectory range (now Southwood, a separate property) is set further back adjoining the lean-to, the present rectory continues into 1 bay of the earlier range. Interior: open well stair has stick balusters, and curved wreathed handrail. Stair hall ceiling is decorated with central plaster motif and ornamental cornice. Large round-headed recess in right-hand wall of stair well. Ground floor room left front has decorated plaster cornice, panelled shutters, and round-headed recess on rear wall. Chimneypiece replaced. Ground floor room rear left has deep skirting board, C19 chimneypiece and panelled shutters. 6-panel doors throughout. Step down to rear right room, in earlier rectory range: 2 boxed-in cross beams, slate floor, partly blocked fireplace to rear lateral stack, fitted timber seat. Cellar below 1830 range has fireplace with brick lintel and cloam oven. Terriers of circa 1680 and 1727 describe the earlier range, in 1727 it had a single-storey kitchen and single storey hall, the room heated by the lateral stack may be one of these.
