2. 1829 on site of an earlier house. Architect said to be Wyatt. Designed as Lord Wilton's hunting box. Coursed sandstone rubble with quoins and ashlar dressings. Jacobean style with symmetrical facade. Outer gables with finials and flanking parapet (cut down to lower centre) also with finials. Slate roof with coped gable ends and linked stone stacks. 2 storeys, gables with stone plaques. 1st floor has 3 light sashes. Ground floor has angled stone bays with 3 sashes each. Centre has large stone 2 storey bay with 4 sashes, all windows have glazing bars. Later rear and eastern side extensions.
Egerton Lodge, its raised terrace, the archway in its eastern garden wall, Lady Wilton's Bridge including the Horse Wash, Leicester Road and Nos 29 to 33 (odd) High Street form a group (the latter are buildings of local interest).
