GV II
Millhouse, now house. C17, remodelled in early C19. Built of limestone rubble with stone-coped slate roof and brick ridge and end stacks. L-shaped plan with 3-unit front range having rear outshut and outbuilding to rear left. 2 storeys; 3-window range. Timber lintels over C20 plank and panelled doors and over early C19 three-light casements with iron opening lights and original turnbuckles. C19 plank door to rear outshut which has stack. Outbuilding, probably a former stables with loft, timber lintels over plank loft and ground-floor doors. Interior: early C19 partitions, joinery and roof structure. C17 moulded ground floor- beams. Shown on 1782 map, and associated with a flour mill on the site: the altered mill shed to the east (not included) has a datestone with the initials E & A S, the Symonds family having been associated with the site since the late C17.
