Memorial to Godfrey Sykes. Dated 1871. Resited late C20. Terracotta, painted late C20, and bronze. Elaborately decorated Corinthian column topped with bronze urn. Square pedestal with 4 bronze relief panels, one of them a portrait. Moulded plinth on square base, surrounded by a cast-iron railing. Godfrey Sykes, 1824-66, was a teacher at the Sheffield School of Design and supervised the decoration of the South Kensington Museum 1859-66.
