Includes: No.74 CORRINGHAM ROAD Hampstead Garden Suburb. Houses. 1911. Barry Parker and Raymond Unwin. Red brown brick in Flemish bond with red brick dressings to openings and corners. Hipped roof of tile with swept and boxed eaves. Two storeys with hipped dormers of two and three lights. Five-window range to Nos. 2 and 4 Corringway, with the fourth being a full-height polygonal bay; remaining windows alternate between two and four lights; all casements of an original design except for first-window range, first floor, Corringham Road elevation. Entrances in second- and fifth-window ranges are set under round relieving arches. All openings are flat arched except for one round window to the right of the entrance to No.2. Dormer buttress to external axial stack on return of No.4; axial ridge stack on party wall. Six-window range to Corringham Road elevation, a setback corner return, the two wings joined at an oblique angle following the line of the pavement. Arrangement similar to that on Nos. 1 and 3 Corringway with No.76 Corringham Road (q.v.). Round-arched cross passage with gate of original design in third-window range; entrance to No.74 under bracket porch in fifth-window range; in the sixth- is a full-height, shallow canted bay which projects just slightly beyond the eaves. Axial ridge stack above cross passage; axial stack to front slope of roof between ranges five and six; three- and two-light hipped dormers. Doors of original design. The block, like its near mirror image across the road, is designed in a manner which lies somewhere between the English classical and vernacular Revival styles and is part of the important Parker and Unwin group formed by Nos. 1 and 3, 5-17 odd (q.v.), 6-18 even (q.v.) Corringway and Nos. 62-76 even (q.v.) Corringham Road.
