II Includes: Nos.31 AND 33 YORK STREET. Includes: No.1 CAMPO LANE. Boys' charity school, now offices. 1825, with late C20 alterations. Ashlar and coursed squared stone. Roof not visible. Single side wall and two rear wall coped stone stacks. EXTERIOR: plinth, rusticated quoins, first floor band, dentilled cornice, pilastered attic storey, blocking course. Three storeys plus basement and attics; seven window range. Projecting centre, three windows, has central twelve pane sash with panelled pilasters and cornice, with a coat of arms between the pedestals. On either side, a similar sash with cornice. Beyond, two twelve pane sashes. Above, seven nine pane sashes, the central three with moulded architraves. Attic storey has seven C20 two-light casements. Ground floor has central doorcase with rusticated pilasters and cornice and shouldered opening with C20 double door and overlight. On either side, single round-headed twelve pane sashes. Beyond, to left, two similar sashes. To right, a similar sash and to its right a panelled double door with overlight and blank fanlight. Left return, to Campo Lane, has four round-headed sashes and above, four twelve pane sashes. Above again, four six pane sashes. Attic has four three-light casements. Basement has three C20 glazing bar lights and to right a large C19 four-panel door. Rear elevation, to York Street, has a slightly recessed centre with four round-headed windows and above, four two pane sashes. Above again, three twelve pane sashes and a shouldered stack flanked by railings. Basement has two blocked openings and to right a twelve pane sash and a half-glazed door with sidelights. Outer blocks, two windows, have similar fenestration, the right block entirely blank. INTERIOR has hallway with a three bay round-headed Doric arcade and cantilever stone dogleg stair with cast-iron flower balusters and ramped scrolled handrail.
