House, now offices. Early C19 with late C18 rear wing. MATERIALS: Ham Hill stone ashlar facade, coursed limestone rubble to the rest. Slate roofs: the mid C18 block to the rear, is hipped to the east, the west-facing gable end of it has stone coping and a stone base to a rendered stack which has a moulded cornice. The main early C19 block has stepped stone coping and brick stacks to gable ends. PLAN: L-shape plan, with a rear, lower, C18 wing to the left, which is stepped forward. The entrance is in the right front return of the rear wing thus exposed, and a verandah with late C19 cast-iron trellissed supports to a C20 glass lean-to roof, covers the door and runs along the south side of the later building. EXTERIOR: The rear, earlier block is 2 storeys, 3-window range with 6/6-pane sashes facing south. The main block facing the road (east) is 2 storeys, 3-window range with 8/8-pane sashes. The central ground-floor window has a moulded, shouldered architrave with an apron between cill and plinth. The left return has an 8/8-pane sash above the verandah to the left, and French windows with margin-panes below it to the right. The right return has steps down to the basement which has a wide C17 door, studded and planked vertically to the exterior and horizontally to the inside. INTERIOR: The entrance hall, at the junction of the 2 buildings, is on 2 levels, the older building being lower, with steps running the length of the late C19 polychromatic tiled floor. The dogleg staircase to the right of it is early C19, with stick balusters and a wreathed mahogany handrail. There is a late C19 black marble fireplace in the rear wing, and white marble one in the front-left room, where the reeded cornice has been embellished. There is an elliptical arch and some 6-panel doors to the ground-floor and 4-panel ones to the first-floor. The basement to the early C19 block has segmental arches to the vaults.
