Terrace of eight houses, now offices and flats. c1790. Possibly by William Paty. Render with limestone dressings, party wall stacks and pantile mansard roof. Double-depth plan. Late Georgian style. Each of three storeys, attic and basement; 2-window range. A uniform stepped terrace articulated by pilaster strips to a moulded coping, ramped up at the party wall. Left-hand doorcases, right-hand to Nos 15-17, have half pilasters to a bracketed semicircular-arched canopy, with festooned medallions above and a cornice, and 6-panel doors. Single 8/8-pane ground-floor sashes, 6/6-panes above, blind range to the right-hand end, and single lead-clad dormers. INTERIOR: extensively remodelled c1970 to form a single office, with flats in attic and basement; original central lateral open dogleg stairs with stick balusters and ramped, banded rails. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached steel basement area railings. (Gomme A, Jenner M and Little B: Bristol, An Architectural History: Bristol: 1979-: 228).
