Rectory, now house. Late C16 origin, C17 and C18 alterations, enlarged and remodelled c. 1812 for Lord William Somerset, then Rector of Tormarton, with some later alterations. Rubble, all rendered except part of right return, stone dressings, stone tiled roofs (3-span to rear). 2½ storeys and 5 windows, all sashes, 2nd from left round headed door with moulded surround and impost blocks, large 6-panelled door with wrought iron fanlight, similar smaller door to right in plain surround; 3 gables, central one smaller, outer gables have stacks, central gable has blocked window and pineapple finial, cornice to outer sides of parapet, raised long and short quoins. Left return has 2 bays to right, 4 bays to left (early C19) set back; to right, 2 storeys and 2 windows, all sashes, cornice and quoins, to left 4 windows, all sashes, two 2-light dormers with hipped roofs, cornice and quoins, ridge and gable stacks. Right return has 4 bays to right of early C19, first floor sashes, ground floor has sash, 15-pane sash, French window with Gothic glazing bars in overlight and 15-pane sash, 2 hipped dormers, cornice and quoins; to left projecting bay with ground floor 3-light stone window with central ogee head and outer pointed segmental heads, leaded lights, glazed door, first floor sash, gable above with ball finial. Rear has 3 gables as on front, outer gables with stacks, central gable with 2-light casement and ball finial, outer cornice and quoins; canted bay through 2 storeys, three 15-pane sashes at ground floor, 3 sashes at first floor, band course, cornice, parapet and coping with 4 small foliate urns. Interior: ground floor rooms at rear of right return have heavy chamfered and stopped beams, similar beams at first floor. Entrance hall has open-well stair with banded mahogany wreathed handrail, oval lantern above, wrought iron fanlights over panelled doors; Adam style fireplaces, moulded cornices, shutters to windows.
