Shall be amended by revised description
Rectory, now a private house. Early C17, E fronted with C18 and early C19 alterations. Painted brick and plaster on timber frame. Old tile roof. Two and a half storeys. Symmetrical entrance front has 2, projecting, gable ends linked by an early C19 porch/ conservatory with pierced quatrefoil stone parapet. Two, 4-centre windows with Gothic mullions flank a double door. Slightly projecting, 1st floor, centre bay has a C18, 8/8 sash window and narrow sashes to sides. End bays with Ground and 1st floor projecting window bays, both with C18 1st floor sashes and cusped bargeboards. Garden elevation of 2 slate roof blocks. Symmetrical on W with large Ground floor canted window bays to outsides and 3 1st floor shallow sash oriels with moulded surrounds. Central C18 horizontal sash dormer. Lower E range is C17 timber frame, with early C18 front. Very large 2 storey late C18 canted window on W with 5 sash windows, and E 4 segmental headed sashes. Interior has oak panelled hall. Remains of overmantel in top E wall. Good early C17 fireplace in room above: fluted pilasters, oval cornice, 2 field overmantel with guilloche arcading. The house is attractively set behind oval lawn and cedar. (RCHM Typescript).
