11/221 Very monument, in churchyard about 20m south-south-east of north gate to Bell Lane, Church of St. Peter and St. Paul

GV II

Chest tomb; Samuel Very died 1722; stone. Plain lid with simply-moulded edge. South face centre square with upright rectangle each side: square contains slightly sunk circle containing inscription with curved lines, surround carved with scrolls and wavy lines. End panels swags, head below, with an open book below that. North side plain. Ends plain, lyre shaped, with raised margin. Partly sunk into ground.
