NORTH YORKSHIRE HAMBLETON 5337 SE 39 SE THORNTON LE BEANS CROSBY ROAD (west side, off) 2/68 Crosby Court 29.1.53 II House. Mid to late C18 and C19. Red brick in Flemish bond, white brick, ashlar dressings, Welsh slate roof. Main south block: C18. 2 storeys, 5 bays plus bowed bay on left corner, central 3 bays breaking forward. Central half-glazed door and fanlight with radiating glazing bars and archivolt in surround of Doric columns, frieze with paterae and open pediment. All windows are sashes with glazing bars, stone sills and flat brick arches. First-floor band. Moulded eaves band. Central 3-bay pediment has oculus with radiating glazing bars. Hipped roof with ridge stacks. Single-storey one-bay extension to right: C19. 3 glazed arched openings, with stone cornice and balustraded parapet; hipped roof. Large C19 west block to right: 2 storeys, 1 bay. Central canted full-height bay window with sashes, flat brick arches and stone sills. Right return: 5 bays. Central 4-panel door in moulded stone architrave under an oval window with radiating glazing bars flanked by tall thin leaded windows, all under a console-bracketed cornice. Other windows are sashes with brick architraves slightly breaking forward, flat brick arches and stone sills. Roof hipped; end stacks and one to ridge.
