Chapel, now outbuilding. C14 origin, largely rebuilt and altered. Rubble,
partly rendered, large limestone quoins and dressings, brick, pantiled roof with
raised coped verges. North front has external stair with 2 segmental arches
under, one in limestone with keystone, one in brick, upper door under eaves;
former opening to left has blocked flat-headed top, possibly originally 4-centred
arch; attached to front right a single storey lean-to with segmental-headed door
and 2-pane light to front. Left return gable end has door with flat head and
8-pane sash above, glass missing. Right return has 2 window openings in gable
end of C19, addition to left has garage doors and window opening to rear. Rear
has stone pointed arch with hollow chamfer and roll-moulding, blocked, loading
door opening under eaves to right. Interior: surviving early features include
deep chamfered and stopped beams, gable end has remains of stone moulded arch,
rear wall has remains of stone pointed arched doorway, front wall has 4-centred
chamfered stone doorway (C15/C16), upper floor probably used as cheese room, has
hooks in upper beams and racks, later roof or principal rafters, collar, 2 rows
of purlins and ridge purlin with plated yokes. There are said to be records
that in 1333, Agnes, daughter of John de Wyck, was married in this chapel to Sir
Theobald de Gorges of Wraxall.
