2/76 11-7-51 Manor Farmhouse GV II*
House, probably C15 in origin with a C16 west wing, a C17 east wing and various Cl9 alterations. Coursed rubble walls with ashlar dressings. Tiled and stone-slated, gable-ended roofs. Ashlar stack at intersection of main range and east wing. 2 storeys with attics, irregular fenestration. Southern facade of C16 wing has, on each floor, a possibly original stone mullioned window of 4, 4-centred head lights. To the right is a doorway with chamfered 4-centred head and a square label. Other stone mullioned windows are probably C17 or C19 intersections. Various C19 Casements. North doorway with chamfered jambs and hollow chamfered, segmental head. East wing has a through passage unconnected to the rest of the house the doors to which each have depressed, 4-centred heads. Internal features (RCHM): C17 hall fireplace with chamfered jambs and reset chamfered stone head; chamfered beams; staircase incorporating some C17 balusters and moulded handrail. The house appears to have originated in the C15 as a hall with a north- east cross passage possibly with a service range beyond, and a possible upper end solar and undercroft. The solar and undercroft were replaced by the present range in the C16 and the service range replaced in the C17 when a stack was also inserted in the former cross-passage.
