granite dressings. Slate roof with gable ends and ridge tiles, hand-made crested
ridge tiles surviving on the earlier roof. Gable end stack with rubble shaft to left
gable end, and front lateral stack with brick shaft to right.
Plan: The house appears to be of 3-room plan, with 2 rooms to left, and the entrance
directly into the room to left, which is heated by the gable end stack. Room to
right may originally have been heated by a gable end stack. The wall breaks forward
to right, and the end room to right is heated by a front lateral stack. There is a
straight joint to the end bay, which is an unheated room.
Exterior: 2 storeys; the range to left is symmetrical with 2 windows; the range to
right is at higher roof level, re-roofed. In the range to left, ground floor has
granite doorway with rounded head, hollow-chamfered with recessed spandrels with
roundels and square hood mould; plain door. 3-light granite casement to left and
right, chamfered, with hood mould and 3-pane C20 casements; window hollow-chamfered
on the inside. At first floor a similar 3-light casement to right and left, with L
hinges to the casements and iron stanchions, C20 flue to right and small single light
at ground floor with chamfered granite lintel, single light at first floor with
timber lintel. Wall breaks forward to right, with the front lateral stack; the roof
level rises at this point. To the right of the stack is a 2-pane light at ground
floor. To right, a straight joint at the upper level, plain door with timber lintel
and small 6-pane casement with timber lintel at first floor. Left side is blind,
with large granite quoins. The right side also has granite quoins, with C20 casement
with timber lintel at ground and first floor to right. There is a 2-light casement
at first floor to left and at the apex of the gable, these with roughly hewn timber
frame and lintel. The rear has a straight joint and quoins between the 2 ranges.
The taller range is built into the back at the rear and has a C20 casement at first
floor to right.
Interior: Not accessible.
