Shown on OS Map as Court Farmhouse. Farmhouse. Early C17 with mid-C19 alterations. Timber-framed, brick infill and replacement walling; plain tiled roofs. H-plan; hall part of three framed bays aligned east/west, large external chimney at rear with three square C19 stacks and joint cap; cross-wings are both of two framed bays, the east wing has an external tufa chimney with offsets and brick stack and the west wing an external brick chimney with similar stack to those of the hall part; in angles between hall and cross-wings in south elevation are set single-bay full-height wings. Two storeys and attic with dormer; all gables have moulded bargeboards and finials with pendants. Framing: six rows of small square panels from sill to wall-plate; probably re-roofed in C19, collar and tie-beam trusses with long and short struts and lower rail. South front elevation: windows are all C19 casements and have moulded architraves, cornices and tiled weatherings; central bay of hall has a large rectangular light and a 3-light window, a first floor 3-light window and a gabled dormer with 3-light window; main entrance to right has a ledged and battened door and transom light and is set beneath the same cornice and weathering as the 3-light window to the left; the small single-bay wings have narrow rectangular windows on both floors; the left cross-wing gable end has a 3-light window on both floors and the right cross-wing gable end has a 5-light window on both floors. Framing: former parlour to south-east has C17 oak panelling enriched with frieze; main beams are all moulded; oak staircase to east of house has turned balusters and plain handrail. Brick and timber-framed lean-to outshuts to rear of hall part (VCH 4, p 265-6).
