2/141 Hunters Lodge - - II

House, c.1570. Originally of 3-cell cross entry form, but the service cell to left has been replaced by a C19 lean-to extension. 2 storeys and attics. Timber-framed and plastered. Thatched roof with original axial chimney of gault brick. C20 casements, those at ground storey with transomes, most having leaded lights. Boarded and battened C20 entrance door in extension to left. Good unmoulded framing exposed: tension-braced close studding with diamond mullioned window exposed in a chamber. Wide lintelled original back- to-back fireplaces in hall and parlour. Chamfered 1st floor joists laid flat. An elliptical arched doorway, one of a pair, leading to the missing service rooms. Clasped purlin roof.
