HALFWAY STREET SIDCUP No. 33 (Farm Cottage) and No. 35

Probably C16. Plaque gives date as 1550. Small, 4-bay, timber-framed hall house. The first floor jettied on west side at north end. Plaster infilling to framing; north wall rendered. Casement windows. Hipped tile roof with small gablets. Smoke-blackened queen-strut roof framing. Inserted chimney-stack with 5 flues. (Reference: Archaeologia Cantiana 76 (1960), pages 200-2.) Eastern wing of No 35, which adjoins No 33 to south-west, forms an integral part of the original structure. The remainder of No 35 is not of special interest.
