9/83 The Vicarage G.V. II Vicarage. Late C17 and 1716, remodelled and extended late C19.
Coursed rubble and brick with stone dressings, partly
pebbledashed, with steep pitched Welsh and Swithland slate roofs.
First floor band, 2 coped gables, 2 ridge and 5 gable brick
stacks. 2 storeys plus attics, 5 bays. Double range. North
front has 3 bay central range with slightly off-centre gable and
lean-to projection with C19 Perpendicular style triple lancet.
This is flanked by single lean-to bay windows with large glazing
bar casements with segmental heads. Beyond to left, flat roofed
bay window with a tall margin light sash with segmental head.
Above, 2 cross casements with segmental heads, flanked by single
2 light casements. Above again, single smaller casement and
above it, coped datestone inscribed 'W P 1716'. Beyond, single
hipped dormers each with a 2 light casement. West end has to
left, tall canted late C19 porch with machiolated parapet, cross
mullioned casements and panelled door. To its right, projecting
wing. Irregular rear elevation has off-centre recessed bay
containing Tudor arched doorway with glazed double door. To its
left, parapeted 2 storey addition with first and second floor
bands, and to left a small casement. To its right, a larger C19.
casement and above, 2 similar casements, all with segmental
heads. To right, gabled and parapeted addition with a triple
plain sash and to right, a French window with segmental head.
Above, 2 margin light sashes and a casement, all with segmental
heads. Above again, a C19 casement and a hipped dormer with a 2
light casement.
