11.8.61 View/Wayside) G.V. II Pair of estate cottages. Early C19. Brick, rendered, with
gabled, hipped and lean-to pantile roofs. Rendered plinth, deep
eaves. 2 ridge stacks, one grouped. Single storey plus attics,
3 bays. L-plan. Windows are Gothick and C20 casements. South
front has to left, gabled porch and to right, gabled cross wing.
Beyond, lean-to addition. To left, canted doorway with recessed
door. To its right, 3 casements, and beyond, blank canted
doorway. Above, to left, gabled dormer. To right, a casement.
East front has central canted doorway flanked by single
casements. To right, C20 lean-to addition with door. Above,
gabled dormer. West side has projecting bay with blocked
opening. To right, canted blocked opening. Above, a gabled
dormer. Rear has adjoining C19 and C20 outbuildings, single
storey, brick with slate and asbestos roofs and central stack.
Rear elevation has, above, to left, casement and to right, gabled
dormer. This building is part of the complete Estate Village
laid out by Earl Manvers of Thoresby Park 1807-1812.
