8 terraced houses built as unified composition, later converted to one office complex. 1834. Yellow stock brick, partially stuccoed. Cast-iron railings and balconies, sections of balustrading in stone. EXTERIOR: slightly advanced centre and end sections of 3 storeys, attic and basement; intermediate sections 3 storeys and basement. Bay pattern: 2;4;5;5;2. End sections have heavy stucco cornice at 3rd-floor level with attic storey (bearing another cornice and panelled parapet) above. Central section (No.7) has similar attic treatment. Intermediate sections have cornice and panelled parapet at 3rd-floor level. Stuccoed ground floor and basement. Ground-floor openings are round-headed with moulded cornice at spring and moulded architraves. Continuous, break-front cornice heads to doors with patterned fanlights. Some doors have been replaced by windows but cornice head treatment remains. Central prostyle porch supporting balustraded balcony on brackets with dentil cornice. Round entrance arch resting on paired, square columns with foliated capitals. Similar balconies to outer sections and cast-iron balconies to inner sections at 1st-floor level. Gauged flat brick arches to sash windows with glazing bars on 1st and 2nd floors. Moulded string at 2nd-floor sills in main features, plain band in inner sections. Facade treatment continued on return for 3 bays. INTERIOR: only one curved staircase remains of the original internal fittings. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: spearhead cast-iron railings to steps and areas. The ground floor exterior was re-rendered in 1958 as an exact reproduction of the original work. The remains of the old Globe Theatre have recently been located beneath part of this building.
