Pair of houses at end of terrace, returning to Palace Yard Mews. c1840. MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, slate roofs. PLAN: Possibly part of longer terrace, abbreviated with later building of church to right, standard town houses, entry and staircase to left, with external porch, left, to No.13, and double ridge roof to central valley. EXTERIOR: Three storeys and basement, developing as full four storeys to rear, each two windows. All twelve-pane sashes in moulded architraves, and with cornice hoods on consoles at first floor, plain reveals to ground floor and basement. To left of No.13 single storey set back porch with four-panel door under transom light, cornice and blocking over. No.14 has similar door and transom light, far left. Plinth, first floor windows to have sill band, cornice with blocking course and parapet, stepped and swept down at centre. Deep ashlar stacks to coped party divisions, right. Return to Palace Yard Mews continues cornice and parapet, and porch runs full depth. Upper two floors have two blind lights at each level, detailed as front. Rear in ashlar block has two windows each, staggered, four-pane to No.13 and twelve-pane to No.14, and basement door. Cavetto cornice with blocking course and parapet. INTERIORS: Not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: Basement areas contained by simple railings on ashlar curb, returned at ends and central doorway.
