OLDBURY CASTLE HILLFORT, WILTSHIRE

Archaeological survey and investigation of Oldbury Castle was requested by the National Trust in advance of repair works to erosion scars at various points around the ramparts. The survey was undertaken by the EH Archaeological Investigation team based at the NMRC, Swindon. The survey encompassed only the area of the hilifort and included none of the other extensive earthworks on the Down.
