Stanton Moor, Derbyshire. Survey Report

In November 2000, English Heritage carried out an archaeological survey and investigation of nine areas within the scheduled boundary of an area on Stanton Moor in Derbyshire which had been omitted from a previous survey by the RCHME in 1986. The survey of the additional areas added little to the record already established by the RCHME for this moor. With a few exceptions, most of the newly recorded features relate to episodes of quarrying and tipping associated with the Stanton Moor Quarries to the west, the majority of which are 19th century in date.
