REPORT ON GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY COMPTON

Author(s): Dr S Ovenden

Gradiometer and resistance surveys were carried out to try to locate building remains and areas of domestic activity within the earthwork complex immediately south of Compton village, approximately 18km south of Devizes, Wiltshire. It was also hoped to establish the eastern limit of anthropogenic activity where subsequent ridge and furrow cultivation has hidden possible earlier features.
