The Investigation and Analytical Survey of Silbury Hill

Author(s): David J Field

In the summer of 2001 English Heritage undertook an archaeological investigation and analytical field survey of Silbury Hill as part of a wider programme of works and consolidation. The survey provided detail about the construction and use of the monument, placing it within its local environs and emphasising its liminal riverine setting. Later, but nevertheless historic, disturbances were also mapped. (This report was originally numbered 22/2002 in the Archaeological Investigation Series.)
