TREE-RING ANALYSIS OF TIMBERS FROM CANYNGES HOUSE, BRISTOL.

Author(s): J Hillam

This report describes the identification and tree-ring analysis of 25 wood samples from the medieval waterfront sites at Canynges House, Bristol. The oak samples produced a tree-ring chronology for the period AD866-1181. A dating framework was obtained for the waterlogged phases, although the estimation of precise felling dates was not possible because of lack of sapwood.
