Tree-Ring Analysis of Timbers from St Bartholomew's Church, Blore, Staffordshire

Author(s): Alison Arnold, Robert Howard, Cliff Litton

Analysis undertaken on 16 samples from roof timbers at this church resulted in the dating of two site sequences. Site sequence BLRCSQ01, contains two samples from the nave and spans the period AD 1367-1443. Neither of these samples have the heartwood sapwood boundary ring and, therefore, estimated felling date ranges cannot be calculated for them, except to say that they were not felled before the middle of the fifteenth century.
