Identification of Mediaeval honestones and stone mortars. Thirty-four of the honestones were of Norwegian Ragstone (two types) originating from central southern Norway; five were of Pennant Sandstone from the Bristol region; five were of indurated mudstone, possibly from south-west England; and another was of greywacke, possibly from the same area. The stone mortars also showed evidence of being brought from some distance, two were of Purbeck limestone and two were of Lincolnshire limestone.
