Tree-Ring Analysis of Timbers from the Remains of the Old Rectory, Warton, Lancashire

Author(s): Alison Arnold, Robert Howard, Cliff Litton

Core samples were obtained from two cruck blades (the only timbers remaining) at this site at Warton, in Lancashire. The analysis of these two cores showed that there was no cross-matching between them. Neither of the samples could be dated individually, despite being compared to an extensive collection of reference material.
