COLCHESTER: THE FISH BONES FROM GILBERD SCHOOL AND CULVER STREET. A PRELIMINARY REPORT.

A total of 437 fish bones was recovered from 17 samples in 9 roman contexts. Few measurements could be taken toestimate the size of the fish, these are detailed in thearchive. The following species were identified: eel, herring, whiting, hake, stickleback, cf sea bream, plaice, flounder and flatfish indet.
