CARBONISED PLANT REMAINS FROM HARDENDALE NAB, CUMBRIA.

Author(s): J P Huntley

Environmental samples from the Bronze Age cairn and its immediate area at Hardendale Nab produced very little identifiable plant material. A few seeds of grassland plants were found in samples from the 'square features' of unknown origin but contemporary with the cairn and cists. Heather twigs were common in some contexts which is unusual for a Bronze Age site in the north of England.
