Clare Camp, Suffolk: Results of Geophysical Survey

Magnetometer and resistivity surveys were carried out which were both reasonably successful and usefully complement the RCHME surface topography survey. The geophysical results tie up remarkably well with Alastair Oswald's interpretation of the earthworks and prove that coordinating the two types of survey was a very worthwhile exercise. A similar approach would be well worth repeating on other earthwork sites to improve their interpretation. The locations of the annotated features on the RCHME earthwork survey highlighted in bold in the text below can be found on Figure 1.
