Two Napoleonic Redoubts in Swinley Wood, Bracknell Forest, Berkshire: Earthwork Survey

Author(s): Nicky Smith

In March 2015, English Heritage’s Assessment Team (West) carried out earthwork surveys of two Napoleonic earthwork redoubts in Swinley Forest, near Bracknell, Berkshire. The surveys were requested by EH’s National Planning and Conservation Department following damage to one of the redoubts, which is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. The second redoubt was a newly-discovered feature. The surveys will inform repair work to the damaged Scheduled Ancient Monument and provide a detailed record of the newly discovered redoubt to assist with its conservation.
