REDCLIFF, WELTON, NORTH HUMBERSIDE: REPORT ON MAGNETOMETER SURVEY, MAY 1989.

Author(s): Andy Payne

This survey was undertaken in response to a request from Hull Council Museums Service. Its intention was to establish the extent and layout of early Roman features sampled in excavations at Redcliff and under threat from erosion by the river Humber. Results indicate a pattern of linear features, probably enclosures, with some evidence for related occupational activity, all concentrated within an area extending to about 60m from the river's edge. Little else was detected to the north or west of this, within the area surveyed.
