Identification of the Slags from Pakenham, Suffolk

A large quantity of smithing debris was deposited during the later Roman civilian occupation of the site. Further detailed phasing of the slag-containing contexts is required to determine whether the slag represents smithing activity in the area excavated, or was wholly derived from levelling and redeposition.
