Parish Church of St Andrew, Fambridge Road, Althorne - Maldon

Parish church. Late C14, altered in the early C16 and restored in C20. Dressed flint and stone rubble walls with dressings of limestone, clunch and redbrick. Chancel of redbrick in English bond. Roofed with handmade red clay tiles. Nave late C14, chancel early C16, west tower c1500. South porch C18. There is very significant structural cracking to the south nave and chancel, and to other areas probably exacerbated by recent changes in climate. Chancel has been roped off. Repair and improvement strategy being worked up.
