Church of St John, Newcastle Road, Stoke-on-Trent - Stoke-on-Trent, City of (UA)

This C19 church was enlarged to its present size in 1908 and consists of a nave and chancel with a north porch, south aisle, south east chapel, vestry and a south west tower with a broached spire. The church was affected by a fire in April 2022 which resulted in damage to the nave and chancel roofs together with the loss of glazing to the chancel east window. All the interior was contaminated by the effects of combustion. The church has been secured and the damage assessed by the insurer's loss adjuster. A Faculty is in progress and roof repairs are anticipated to commence in summer 2023.
