Church of St John the Baptist, Church Street, Ightfield - Shropshire (UA)
The C15 church of St John the Baptist consists of a nave with a west tower and a south porch, a north aisle and a chancel. Designed in Perpendicular Gothic with crenellated parapets, multi-stepped buttresses and decorative finials, it is constructed in grey ashlar stone and has steeply pitched roofs covered in plain clay tiles. The tower roof coverings and parapet gutter linings require complete renewal. High level masonry repairs to the tower are also needed together with a new surface water drainage system. The congregation are investigating sources of grant funding to carry out repairs.
