The archaeological survey of York was to provide information on what archaeology had been carried out and what remained to be done in relation to the likely survival of the relevant archaeological deposits. The work was undertaken for the Ancient Monuments Inspectorate of the DOE, in 1982, by Gill Andrews of the Central Excavations Unit.
