Description

The collection consists of thirty-one photographic prints showing 19th century timber railway viaducts in Devon and Cornwall, built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The photographs are copies of originals held at several different repositories. They were collected by the author John Binding, during the course of his research for his book 'Brunel's Cornish Viaducts'. The originals date from the early 1860s to 1932. The collection also includes a set of printed notes composed by Binding which describe the photographs, alongside annotated copies of maps showing the location of the viaducts.
