The collection comprises 6 photograph albums showing Brunswick Wharf Power Station (also known as Poplar Electricity Generating Station). The electricity generating station was built on land owned by the London Metropolitan Borough of Poplar. The photographs were taken between 1947 and 1956 and show progress of construction and the completed buildings with equipment installed.
Contributing photographers include A. Potter, W.G. Such, H.G. Biggs, P.C. Tipper and Aerofilms. The photographs were taken for the Borough of Poplar Electricity Department, British Electricity Authority (London Division), and the Central Electricity Authority (London Division).
The collection was acquired by the NMR before 2007.
