A collection of photographic prints, newspaper cuttings, and a single postcard, created by Selkirk-based photographer Walter Brydon, in the 1950s.
The majority of the photographic prints depict locations in the Scottish borders, but alongside these are images showing: Berwick Old Bridge, Berwick-on-Tweed; Bamburgh Castle; Twizel Bridge, Northumberland; the Mounting Stone on West End, Tweedmouth; a road sign surrounded by deep snow, on the Elsdon-Rothbury Road in Northumberland; and a view of Winter's Gibbet in Harwood, Northumberland. These prints were all taken by Walter Brydon and are stamped with his name on the reverse. The collection also includes a colour postcard of Winter's Gibbet, and a newspaper cutting of an article written by Brydon, which includes a copy of his photograph of the Gibbet.
The collection was acquired by the Historic England Archive in 2011.
